The Purpose of the Alcohol and other Drug Policy and Program at Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations is to preview the unlawful possession use or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students and employees.

The institution is in compliance with the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989 (Public Law 101-226). All students and employees should refer to the “Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program” for information concerning policies and individual responsibilities required under this Act.

All students, staff, and faculty will be required to sign a "Drug Free School" policy which informs them of the School’s policies and procedures and commits them to complying with its provisions. It should be understood by all that substance abuse checks can be required in any setting where the well being of a patient may be jeopardized. This may include student activities, employment provisions, and on-the-job requirements.

It should also be known that even after Graduation, State Certification and Licensure will be jeopardized in the event of arrest and conviction of substance abused and illegal drug crimes.
