Introduction to the World of Evolve HESI
Evolve HESI, is a computer based system designed for nursing students. It is a supplemental tool to help you learn the content of your nursing courses. The system is being made available to you to help you be successful in nursing school. It is a supplement to your texts and is published by the same company as your text books.

  1. You will be given a code number to access the materials. The materials include content in Fundamentals of Nursing, Pharmacology, Medical/Surgical Nursing, Obstetrical, Pediatric Nursing, and Mental Health Nursing.
  2. You will create an account on the Evolve website in order to access remedial study materials, practice tests, and case studies.
  3. The computer lab is available on Fridays from 7:00am – 7:00pm for you to be able to practice and remediate at the school, if you do not have a computer available at home.
  4. The school Library computers are also available from 7:30pm – 11:00pm Monday through Thursday.


How does the system work?
  1. At any time during a course you can access practice materials for the course you are taking.
  2. Once you take a practice test, you can review in general how you did. The focused review will guide you to those areas of weakness identified by taking the Practice Test. You then use the website that includes videos and case studies to review and study your areas of weakness.
  3. The Evolve HESI materials are NOT a substitute for your class, your textbooks or your clinical experiences, etc. The system is simply a TOOL, the same kind of tool as flash cards, writing answers to chapter objectives and studying workbooks.


Important Note:
As you progress through your program you will be required to pass computer exams. Using Evolve HESI throughout the program will prepare you for the complexity and type of questions you will be required to pass as you progress throughout your nursing program.
